The twenty-five massive, Alco-built, 4000-class, 4-8-8-4 Big Boys - the iconic Union Pacific steam locomotives - manufactured between 1941 and 1944 played a key role in hauling vital war materiel throughout World War II and were among the last steam locomotives taken out of service in the late 1950s. Now, you can have one running again!
This beautifully hand-weathered, HO scale model of the legendary 4-8-8-4 articulated features built-in DCC and sounds - such as compressor, injector, safety valve, whistle, bell and others - with a LokSound decoder and speaker; a die cast metal chassis; dual brass flywheels for smooth operation; operating headlights; numerous factory-fitted details, including a nicely-outfitted cab; a realistic centipede tender; magnetically operated knuckle couplers; and authentic markings. Measures 18¼" long and is recommended for curves with at least an 18" radius.
