Hand Off at Harrisburg
Gil Reid. The Pennsylvania Railroad's Eastern empire included a vast web of catenary lines which was used to power its fleet of electric locomotives. But the "power" ended in Harrisburg, and here we see a GG1 handing off the famous all-Pullman Broadway Limited to a pair of steam powered K4 Pacifics, which will complete the 907-mile journey to Chicago.
