Gil Bennett. Delivered between 1958 and 1961, Union Pacific's 8500 hp gas turbine locomotives were the largest locomotives ever built. Relegated to freight runs between Council Bluffs, Iowa and Ogden, Utah due to their deafening jet engine exhaust noise, the turbines eventually fell victim to the more efficient diesels. 24"x 18" print.
