Green River Challenger

Green River Challenger

John Bromley. Green River, Wyoming became a division point for the Union Pacific Railroad in 1872 and soon thereafter, a large railroad yard, shop facilities and an imposing brick depot put the desolate little town on the map. Here we see a 4-6-6-4 Challenger gliding through with a long string of reefers in tow. Gandy dancers seem oblivious to the massive steamer as they fight to thaw a pair of frozen turnouts. Print measures 24"x 16."
