| GATC 2600 Airslide Hopper
Atlantic Sugar Refineries
Built by General American Transportation, the Airslide 2,600-cubic-foot-capacity covered hopper was developed in the 1950s to haul dry bulk ladings such as flour, starch, sugar and plastics. This HO scale Athearn model of one of those hoppers features an etched metal roof walk and brake platform; separately applied wire grab irons, roping eyes and brake piping; a detailed underbody with outlet piping; prototypical trucks; added weight and RP25 metal wheels for smooth tracking; magnetically operated knuckle couplers; an authentic paint scheme; and more. Measures 4¾" long and arrives ready to roll.
