At the dawning of the 20th century, the ever-increasing weight and length of passenger trains required a new powerful locomotive. The 4-6-2 Pacific, conceived in the 1880s and perfected in 1901, answered the call and remained a staple of railroads across the world for the next forty years.
Hauling a coal tender and featuring authentic Southern Pacific markings, this HO scale model is DCC & Sound-equipped (including Paragon 3 audio) and features an operating headlight, see-through cab windows, a well-equipped interior, a simulated coal load, a realistic underframe, magnetically operated knuckle couplers, and RP25 metal wheels with added weight for smooth operation. Minimum radius of 18". Measures approximately 12" long with tender.
